EARLY CHILD LEARNING APPROACHES:

Here at Discovery Child Care (DCC) we feel it is important to create a dynamic and relevant working space that will not only help children build a strong understanding about life but that will also help them thrive well beyond the standard classroom setting. Life is so intricate and dynamic, the need for exploration of relevant and traditional learning approaches is necessary to developing future leaders.

Toddler Approach

Discovery Child Care’s (DCC) Toddler curriculum is designed to create interactive and memorable experiences between the classroom, teacher and children. This will help with cognitive and emotional development. Toddlers will learn how to count, formulate sentences, explore their artistic/musical talents/ skills,  develop a basic understanding of their emotions and how to explain the way they are feeling. Each child’s day is structured into learning blocks that focus on core concepts: cognitive, physical development and health, language and literacy, creative arts, mathematics, social and emotional development, science and social studies.

DCC’s curriculum is specifically designed to assist your toddler in developing essentials for early brain development through the concepts of, communication, direction and reflection. Furthermore, our program will help with building the Attention system of your toddlers brain, helping them be more productive and successful when transitioning to school. We promote healthy brain development through positive relationships and responsive environments, that will help your child learn how to bond and develop awesome communication skills.

Infant Approach

DCC’s Infant Program has been carefully designed to ensure there is strong cognitive stimulation throughout the day. Ways that we do this are through, individual routines, including but not limited to physical development and health, language and literacy, social and emotional learning.

Administrators and staff work hard to ensure that daily activities inspire an environment that helps develop strong brain connectors that empower infants to build mandatory brain connections in order to identify important relationships and core learning skills- competencies.

Routines and consistency are very important for infants because they have no sense of time. At Discovery we create routines so that we can help infants create a sense of security and predictability when in providers care.
